The Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning hit comedy show “Inside Amy Schumer” returns with a bang, continuing to push the limits of comedy. Schumer skewers everything from gender politics to human behavior in another season of sketch, stand-up comedy, and interviews. Nine new episodes begin on Thursday, April 21 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT as the series continues to explore topics revolving around sex and relationships, and delves into how you can never be too exposed.

Amy Schumer has proven herself one of the entertainment industry’s leading forces as a stand-up comedian, actress, writer, producer and director. Her critically acclaimed series was given the 2016 Writers Guild Award for “Best Comedy/Variety Sketch” series. Last fall the show was honored with its first-ever Emmy® Award for “Outstanding Sketch Variety Series” and one for “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” for the song “Girl You Don’t Need Makeup.” Schumer was also nominated for “Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series” and “Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.”  She also received honors for “Individual Achievement in Comedy” and “Outstanding Achievement in Comedy” from the Television Critics Association in 2015.  Additionally, she was awarded the 2015 Critics’ Choice Television Award for “Best Actress in a Comedy Series.” “Inside Amy Schumer” received the prestigious Peabody® Award in 2014.

Comedy Central swept the Variety Series categories at last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, taking home the Emmys for both Variety Talk and Sketch Series, along with the Emmys in both the Writing and Directing categories. The #1 brand in comedy earned a record eight awards, placing it behind only HBO and NBC in total wins amongst all networks during the 2014-2015 Primetime Emmy® Awards competition. At last night’s live Primetime Emmy Awards presentation, Comedy Central followed only HBO in Emmy wins.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” reigned supreme and capped off the Stewart era by winning three Emmys last night, increasing its overall Emmy Award total to 23. The hit late-night talk show was recipient of the first-ever Outstanding Variety Talk Series award, the 11th time the show has won a Best Series award. Its Emmy win for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series was also the 9th time it was so honored. Rounding out its historic era, the multiple-nominated Chuck O’Neil broke through with his first Emmy Award win for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series.

Inside Amy Schumer” earned two Emmy Awards, receiving the first-ever awarded Outstanding Sketch Series honor and the win for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.

Comedy Central’s social media sensation and hit late-night series “@midnight” received its first Emmy, for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media – Social TV Experience, “Drunk History” was awarded its first Emmy on its first nomination, for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or a Special, and “The Colbert Report” won an Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards were presented in two ceremonies. The first, primarily for creative arts categories, took place on Saturday, September 12, while the balance of the Emmys, primarily for the performing arts, and were announced last night before a black-tie audience during a primetime telecast (Fox). Both ceremonies took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
